Title: Juneau, Alaska Empty Bowls
Location: Juneau, Alaska
Description:
Potters Needed
Juneau’s Glory Hole, Juneau’s homeless shelter and soup kitchen, is looking for donations of handmade soup bowls from area-wide potters for “Empty Bowls” 2010. Many local potters, both professional and amateur, have already agreed to make and donate bowls, but more are still needed.
“Empty Bowls” is a nation-wide event that funds hunger relief programs. Diners select a bowl from which to have a simple meal of soup and bread, and afterwards take the bowl home as a reminder that there are empty bowls everywhere in the world. This year’s, Empty Bowls will be held April 25th, at Centennial Hall.
