Skyline College Empty Bowls, San Bruno, California

Title: Skyline College Empty Bowls, San Bruno, California
Location: San Bruno, California
Description:
Empty Bowls is an international grassroots movement aimed at fighting hunger. Skyline College Ceramics students have donated handmade bowls for a simple meal of soup and bread, provided by Pacific Dining. Guests choose a bowl to use at the dinner and get to keep it as a symbol to remind us that there are always empty bowls in the world. In exchange for the meal and the bowl, guests give a suggested minimum donation of ten dollars. All proceeds will benefit the North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center of Daly City.

The event will be hosted by the Skyline Ceramics Club with contributions and performances by the Capuchino High School Ceramics and Peace Club, the Skyline College Intermediate Voice Class Students, the Skyline Cheer and Dance Team, and the Skyline College Volunteer Club. Funding is provided by the Skyline Organization and Club Council. Empty Bowls is scheduled for Wednesday, April 21st, at 6-8pm in the Skyline College Cafeteria, 3300 College Drive, San Bruno. Tickets will be on sale beginning in April, and will also be available at the door. To purchase a ticket in advance email the ceramics club at schmierert@smccd.edu.
