Description: Just writing to let you know that the service learning students of UNIV 211: Food for Thought at Virginia Commonwealth University will be hosting an Empty Bowls event to benefit the farmers’ market and community garden and farmlet programs at William Byrd Community House in Richmond, VA. The concert will be part of a three-part evening of events to fight food insecurity:
April 29, 2012
6:00-7:00PM Empty Bowls – $20 a seat – a simple meal of soup, salad and bread, proceeds to benefit William Byrd Community House
7:30-8:30PM Playing for Change – $5 at the door – a three-set concert, proceeds to benefit the Bizung School of Music and Dance in Tamale, Ghana
6:00-8:30PM Upcycled Art Sale – items priced as marked – proceeds to benefit Meals on Wheels of Greater Richmond
