Help feed the hungry while enjoying a fun event – come to the 5th annual “Empty Bowl Event” at Prairie Ridge Elementary on Friday, April 26th 2013, between 5:30-7:30 p.m. Prairie Ridge Elementary students in grades 3-5 & Staff, KVCC students, and professional artists have created hundreds of high-fired, glazed ceramic bowls to donate to this event. For just $5 per family, you will be treated to a meal of macaroni and cheese, live entertainment (guitar, bluegrass music), and you get to select and keep a bowl to take home as a reminder that many people in our community go hungry every day.
This event is open to the general public.
There will also be a silent auction open for bids on professional and adult-made ceramic bowls. All of the proceeds will be donated to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes – a local food bank.
