Sierra Vista’s Third Empty Bowls Project, Sierra Vista, Arizona

Title: Sierra Vista’s Third Empty Bowls Project, Sierra Vista, Arizona
Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Description:
Sierra Vista’s Third Empty Bowls Project
“500 Bowls, 5000 Dollars!”

The City of Sierra Vista Department of Parks & Leisure Services’ instructional program, The Pottery Studio @ Sierra Vista, is sponsoring our third fund raiser for area food banks, soup kitchens, and other organizations feeding hungry people in our community.

For a $10 suggested donation guests receive a hand made pottery bowl, are served a simple meal of soup and bread, and are invited to keep the bowl as a reminder that there
are always empty bowls in the world. There will be a silent auction of a variety of special pottery to raise extra funds.

One hundred percent of donations will go toward supporting St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, Salvation Army Food & Nutrition Program, Fort Huachuca Chaplain’s Food Locker, the Bisbee Coalition for the Homeless, and one other agency yet to be determined.

This year’s event will be held on World Food Day, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Ethel H. Berger Center, 2950 E. Tacoma Street, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
