This will be our 9Th year and to date, we have raised over $67,000 for our Community Food Bank.

It will be held on:
February 20, 2012
4:30-7:00 at First United Methodist Church, 320 3rd St. SE, in Cullman, Al
Cullman was heavily damaged by Tornadoes in April and a large part of the Church was damaged, but the place where we always hold Empty Bowls was untouched.

Title: Empty Bowls of Arlington, Virginia
Location: Arlington, Virginia
Description: I am writing to let you know about two Empty Bowls events that SOME (So Others Might Eat) in partnership with the Corcoran College of Art and Design will be hosting this March. SOME is an interfaith community based organization in Washington, DC. Our mission is to serve the poor and homeless of our city by meeting their immediate needs such as food, clothing, and shelter, while also providing programs to help them regain their stability and independence.
Each March we host two Empty Bowls events to raise money for our meal programs for hungry and homeless men, women and children.

This year the events will be held on Tuesday, March 6th at Blessed Sacrament in NW Washington, DC and Wednesday, March 14th at St. Charles in Arlington, VA.

Both events will be from 6pm-8pm. Guests are served a simple soup supper and may select and take home one of the gorgeous hand-crafted bowls that will serve as a reminder of those whose bowls are empty. All proceeds from the event will help SOME continue to provide more than 1,000 meals each day to hungry and homeless District residents.
